Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
The short version: the Caiet app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no analytics in the app. This website uses analytics only if you accept its cookie banner — see below.
The Caiet app
Caiet is a local-first desktop application. Your documents are read from and written to your own disk, and never leave your device unless you explicitly export or share them yourself.
- No account or sign-in is required or offered.
- No cloud sync — documents are not uploaded anywhere.
- No telemetry, usage analytics, or crash reporting phone home.
- No third-party trackers or advertising SDKs are bundled with the app.
One thing to know: if a document you open refers to an image on the web (anhttps:// address), Caiet does not load it until you allow it, once for that document or always in Settings. When you allow it, the image is fetched from that website, which can see your IP address and when you opened the file, as with any web page. Nothing is sent to Caiet or its developer.
This website (caiet.app)
If you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, this site uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use it — page views, clicks, scrolling, and session recordings — which sets cookies and collects your IP address and browser information. It does not know who you are; there is no account or sign-in on this site. Decline the banner (or don't interact with it) and Clarity never loads. See Microsoft Clarity's terms for details. The site also loads web fonts from Google Fonts to render text.
App Store & Microsoft Store
When you download Caiet from the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store, the store operator (Apple or Microsoft) handles the purchase and download and may collect data under their own privacy policies. That data collection is outside Caiet's control — see Apple's and Microsoft's own privacy policies for details.
Changes to this policy
If Caiet ever starts collecting data — for crash reporting or an optional cloud feature, for example — this page will be updated first, and the change will be described plainly here.
